About the Author:

Louise Derman-Sparks, a long-time human development faculty member at Pacific Oaks, is now a professor emeritus. Previously, Ms. Derman-Sparks worked with the Perry Preschool Project and the Ypsilanti Early Childhood Project, and directed a child care center in Los Angeles. She is the author and co-author of several books and conducts workshops and consults widely throughout the United States and internationally.
