About the Author:

Cheri J. Meiners, MEd, studied art in London and Swedish history and culture at Stockholm University, student taught on a Ute Indian reservation in Utah, and graduated with high honors in elementary education from Brigham Young University. She also volunteered as a missionary in Italy for a year and a half and later taught first graders in Idaho. She earned her master's degree in elementary and gifted education at Utah State University, where she also taught classes and supervised student teachers.
