Yearly flu vaccinations are recommended for all children 6 months of age and older and for all adults. Flu vaccine can be given in two ways. The flu shot is given with a needle, usually in the arm. It is recommended for children over 6 months of age. Healthy children over age 2 may be given a nasal-spray flu vaccine instead.
