Early Childhood Research and Practice (ECRP)
http://ecrp.uiuc.edu ECRP is a peer-reviewed bilingual electronic journal published
biannually and sponsored by the Early Childhood and Parenting
(ECAP) Collaborative at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign. It covers topics related to the development, care, and
education of children from birth to approximately age eight. It contains
articles on teaching, parent involvement, and educational policy.

Illinois Early Learning Project
www.illinoisearlylearning.org The Illinois Early Learning Project Web site has information on early
care and education for parents, caregivers, and teachers of young chil-
dren in Illinois. The resources are relevant to all who are interested
in early childhood issues. The Web site offers printable tip sheets for
caregivers and parents in English, Spanish, and Polish.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
www.naeyc.org NAEYC has about 90,000 members in 300 local, state, and regional
affiliates. Its mission is to improve the well-being of all young children
from birth through age eight by improving the quality of early child-
hood programs, teachers, and caregivers adhering to developmentally
appropriate practice (DAP). The organization sponsors and produces
professional development conferences and educational materials,
including position statements on major issues such as early literacy
and assessment. NAEYC offers an accreditation process for early
childhood programs and higher education institutions that train
early educators.
