December's Tickler is from L. Grace in Shickshinny, PA:

Outside in our play space, we have an anchored canoe that was abandon on the river long ago and installed by an Eagle Scout in our play yard. Needless to say, this canoe has offered limitless voyages in the imaginations of our three- to five-year-olds.

Just recently, I was sitting in one end of the canoe and Sophie was in the other. Soon she swaggered over to me, her brows furrowed, and growling something in a gruff voice. I could only make out the words "Do you know........argggggggg?"

I asked her to repeat what she said more slowly. Her hand went up and covered her right eye. "Do you know what a pirate's favorite letter is?" she asked.

I look puzzled.

"Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" she said.

She got me.
