Tax Workbook book coverTax Companion book coverA reader asks:
"I'm a family child care provider. What is the difference between the 2006 Family Child Care Tax Workbook and Organizer and the 2006 Family Child Care Tax Companion?"

Tom Copeland responds:
The 2006 Family Child Care Tax Workbook and Organizer is for providers who do their own taxes. It contains detailed discussions on filling out the tax forms, calculating depreciation deductions, hiring employees, mending a return, etc. It includes copies of the necessary tax forms and an example of a completed tax return.

The 2006 Family Child Care Tax Companion is for providers who use tax preparers. It contains a series of worksheets and a commentary on the three key tax forms so both the tax preparer and provider can make sure the return is filed properly.
