Dow, who performs and teaches dance to young children and adults, presents 109 activities and two CDs of vocal and instrumental music to help teachers incorporate movement and physical activity into early childhood curriculum. Each has step-by-step instructions (including scripts) for choosing music, presenting the activity, and closing the session, in addition to advice for managing a group of children and ensuring their safety, modifications for students with special needs, and ways to maximize learning opportunities. They relate to starting the day; circle games; transition times; language and literacy, numbers, shapes, patterns, science, and social studies; large-motor skills for large spaces; relaxing and ending the day; and individual movement.
