COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL Mirror Game As part of their development, children must learn to physically imitate what they experi- ence visually. This game gives them the opportunity to do just that. Stand where all of the children can easily see you. Explain that they should pretend to be your reflection in a mirror, imitating your every move. Then move parts of your body in various ways (for example, raising and lowering an arm, tilting your head) slowly and without verbal instruction; and the children do likewise. 36 COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL
