large enough not to pose a choking hazard, and so forth.
It is our hope that this book will empower teachers to reevaluate
established curriculum; recognize the difference between appropriate and
inappropriate materials and practices; and introduce to their children the
wonderful books, artwork, and music of Native authors and artists. As
Lakota people say, mitakuye oyasin—we are all related.
