Autumn Nature Study 16
Happy almost autumn! As we prepare for the upcoming fall sea-
son in our classroom, we will be asking for your help in the weeks
ahead. The children will soon be delving into these autumn topics
• Fall Leaves
• Monarch Butterflies
• Autumn’s Apples
• Perfect Pumpkins
• Spider Species
• Searching for Squirrels
• Flying Feathers
Be on the lookout this fall for our simple nature homework
activities. These will all be wholesome, fun family activities that will
provide enjoyment for the season, such as taking a walk in nature
and observing squirrels, trees, and other autumn attributes.
In the meantime, please send a simple autumn treasure with
your child to school. We will add it to our Autumn Family Trea-
sures box. Items can include such things as a picture of a fun fam-
ily autumn activity or special leaves, acorns, or feathers you have
found during the fall season. We will be discussing all of the items
during our group circle time. Our group time discussions will
enhance the children’s listening, speaking, reading, and writing
skills and provide an opportunity to integrate the seasonal theme
into all their learning.
Thank you in advance for all of your autumn contributions.
More important, thank you for your involvement with your child’s
education! Children need plenty of time outdoors enjoying nature.
They need time to appreciate the simple things our environment
has to offer. I value having you join me in helping with this impor-
Here’s to celebrating the autumn season and all of its gifts.
My best to you,
